Student Led Transition Program

  • BPS is committed to ensuring a peer-led, safe, and positive transition for students from military families into our schools. For support, please contact the Military Point of Contact listed at the top of this webpage.

  • Andersen's student transition team connects new students to other students who have the military in common. This helps students to acclimate to the school community and begin building peer relationships.

  • Andersen has three resource teachers to serve students in and out of the general education classrooms. We also have two self contained varying exceptionalities classrooms (grades K-2 & 3-6).

Upcoming Military Recognition Events

  • Veteran’s Day celebration - Nov. 8, 2024. School families and community members are invited to a flag raising ceremony held on our front lawn. We individually recognize each Veteran and Active Duty Member in attendance. The middle school and high school band perform as well as Andersen's Chorus. Veteran's and their families are invited for a continental breakfast following the ceremony.

  • Month of the Military Child -April 2025- We celebrate our military students by highlighting one student a day on our morning announcements.
